Here at SPARŚA, we truly do believe that yoga is for everyone. Every body. No matter the shape, size, or fitness level.

Many people are intimidated to try yoga asana, the physical practice of yoga, because they worry that they won’t be flexible enough or strong enough. Some people are recovering from an injury and are worried that a regular yoga class won't have modifications that allow them to practice safely. Others have neurological deficits or physical limitations that they think will prevent them from doing a physical activity like yoga. But all you need to do yoga is a body — in any form to practice yoga. There are many benefits to be gained by practicing yoga — regardless of whether you have physical or neurological limitations. 

Adaptive yoga allows people of all ages, shapes, and sizes to experience yoga benefits such as:

  • Relief from anxiety

  • Improved symptoms of depression

  • More strength in mobile muscle groups

  • Better mobility

  • Improved heart and lung function

  • Improved immune health


This 2 hour long Adaptive Yoga Workshop will consider all bodies and abilities. It's an introduction to adaptive yoga. It will move slowly and respond to the overall needs of the students that attend. It’s accessible to everyone, and multiple variations of each pose will be taught, allowing the poses to be adapted to specific needs and abilities. We will discuss, demonstrate and make good use of props as needed per student. There are many benefits to be gained by practicing yoga — regardless of whether you have physical or neurological limitations. Please wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for yoga and bring water. Mats and props are available at the studio.

Students should arrive early and discuss their needs and concerns with the teacher. All students must show proof of Covid-19 Vaccination.
